Snickers Brownies

Box chocolate cake is the basis of this recipe which also features caramel and a rich chocolate ganache on top.
Prep Time:15 minutes
Cook Time:21 minutes
Total Time:36 minutes
Servings:15 brownies

Ingredients

For the brownies:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • cup evaporated milk divided
  • ¾ cup butter melted
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Snickers Bites candy
  • 11 ounces caramel bits

For the chocolate ganache:

  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup whipping cream

Instructions

To make the brownies:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan and set it aside.
  • Mix together the box cake mix, ⅓ cup of the evaporated milk, and the melted butter in a large mixing bowl until well combined. Spread ⅔ of this batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 6 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips and Snickers Bites candy over the top.
  • Add the caramel bits and the remaining ⅓ cup of the evaporated milk to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30-second intervals while stirring the mixture in-between until the caramel bits have melted completely and then pour this mixture over the cake mixture.
  • Now evenly pour the remaining ⅓ of the cake batter over the melted caramel and bake for 15 minutes until set. Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan.

To make the chocolate ganache:

  • Add the chocolate chips and whipping cream to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30-second intervals while stirring the mixture in-between until the chocolate has melted completely.
  • Pour the chocolate ganache over the cooled brownies and allow it to cool completely. Remove from the pan and cut into squares using a sharp and warm knife for clean cuts. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Chop Snickers bars if you can't find the candies and/or chop caramels if you can't find caramel bits.
  • Not really a fan of Snickers but a diehard brownies fan? No problem! You can substitute any chocolate candies for the Snickers in this recipe.
  • Use a silicone spatula to smooth the cake batter out in the pan and get an even layer.
