Soul Food Sweet Potato Pie

This sweet potato pie is incredibly easy to make and includes vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a mouthwatering result.

Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 pound sweet potatos cooked, peeled
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Mash potatoes in a bowl. Add butter and beat well to combine.
  • Add the remaining ingredients except for the pie crust and stir well to combine.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease a pie pan. Unroll the pie crust and press into the pie pan. Add the filling on top and bake for 55-60 minutes.

Notes

  • Make sure the bars are completely cool or else you won't be able to cut them cleanly.
  • Optional add-ins you might like to try include chopped nuts, chocolate chips, and vanilla sprinkles.
  • Set a timer so you don't forget to turn the oven temperature down after the first 15 minutes.
