Soul Food Sweet Potato Pie
This sweet potato pie is incredibly easy to make and includes vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a mouthwatering result.

- 1 9-inch pie crust
- 1 pound sweet potatos cooked, peeled
- ½ cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Mash potatoes in a bowl. Add butter and beat well to combine.
Add the remaining ingredients except for the pie crust and stir well to combine.
Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease a pie pan. Unroll the pie crust and press into the pie pan. Add the filling on top and bake for 55-60 minutes.
- Make sure the bars are completely cool or else you won't be able to cut them cleanly.
- Optional add-ins you might like to try include chopped nuts, chocolate chips, and vanilla sprinkles.
- Set a timer so you don't forget to turn the oven temperature down after the first 15 minutes.
