Apple Pie Puff Pastry

You just can’t go wrong with this simple 6-ingredient recipe. The sweet apple filling, crumbly pastry, and sweet glaze are perfect.
Prep Time:5 minutes
Cook Time:15 minutes
Total Time:20 minutes
Servings:18 pastries

Ingredients

  • 21 ounces canned apple pie filling
  • 2 puff pastry sheets
  • ¼ cup walnuts
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons milk any type

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Take two muffin tins and spray them with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Unroll both puff pastry sheets and cut each of them into 9 square pieces so that you end up with a total of 18 square pieces. Then gently press one square piece into each of the cups in the muffin tins.
  • Now fill each one with a heaping tablespoon of the apple pie filling and then equally sprinkle some cinnamon and walnuts over all of them. Bake for up to 15 minutes until the pastries turn golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow them to cool completely. In the meantime, mix the confectioners' sugar and milk in a medium bowl until it turns into thick icing.
  • Once completely cooled, drizzle the icing over the top of the pastries. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure the pastry is fully thawed before making the recipe. It can take up to a couple of hours to thaw at room temperature so plan ahead.
  • Use apple pie filling with finely diced apple pieces rather than the kind with larger pieces of sliced apple, so they will fit easily into the individual crusts in the muffin tin cups.
  • Either drizzle the glaze randomly over the little pies or snip the corner off a Ziploc bag for clean lines.
