Oreo Brownies

These brownies are easy to make and so delicious from the crinkled top to the rich, fudgy center and the crunchy Oreos.
Prep Time:15 mins

Chilling Time:30 mins
Total Time:1 hr 20 mins
Servings:16 brownies

  • 1 box brownie mix plus the ingredients listed on the package
  • 14.3 ounces Oreos 1 package, divided equally into 3rds, all coarsely chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip chilled
  • cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • Prepare the brownie batter as instructed on the box, folding in one-third of the coarsely chopped Oreos into the batter. Bake the brownies according to the instructions on the box until a toothpick inserted comes out clean from the center. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  • Meanwhile, beat the cream cheese and confectioners’ sugar in a large mixing bowl until completely smooth and then fold in the Cool Whip and another one-third of the coarsely chopped Oreos. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the cooled brownies.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate chips with the vegetable oil and microwave for 30-second intervals while stirring in-between until the chocolate has melted completely. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the cream cheese layer and then sprinkle the remaining chopped Oreos on top of it.
  • Transfer the pan to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes. When ready to serve, remove the pan from the refrigerator and slice the brownie into 16 squares using a sharp knife. Serve and enjoy!

  • You can use literally any cookie you want in place of the Oreos. Feel free to experiment with a different one (or two!) kinds.
  • The perfect balance of ingredients is what gets the brownies crackled on top and fudgy on the inside, so measure your ingredients with a digital scale rather than using cup measurements if you can, for accuracy.
  • Swap the chocolate chips for white chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or dried fruit if you like.
