Snickers brownies are one of the most indulgent desserts ever. Pairing chocolate cake mix, instead of classic brownie mix, with Snickers candies, caramel, and dark chocolate, this rich dessert is a real winner.

You know, there's really no such thing as too rich when it comes to brownies. They're supposed to boast an intense chocolate flavor and be fudgy and mouthwatering like these eggless brownies. If Snickers is one of your favorite kinds of candy, then this recipe as well as Snickers fudge are no-brainers!

These delicious Snickers brownies might very well become your new favorite dessert of all time. They are great with an after-dinner coffee or as a mid-morning snack. They're portable too, making them ideal for a picnic, party, or any kind of gathering.

Main Ingredients

The ingredients used to make Snickers brownies laid out on a table.

Snickers fans will definitely love these delicious treats. I certainly do! These are some of the main ingredients in Snickers brownies:

  • Chocolate cake mix: The basis of the recipe. Using cake mix is a great shortcut because it cuts time off traditional brownie prep work and also adds a rich flavor. Use any chocolate cake mix you want, such as German chocolate cake or devil's food cake.
  • Dark chocolate chips: To make the ganache and also add richness to the brownies. You can sub milk chocolate chips if you want or even white chocolate. For the ultimate in richness though, I'd go with dark chocolate chips.
  • Evaporated milk: To get the batter consistency perfect. Evaporated milk is basically milk with the water content removed. Don't use condensed milk, since that is much thicker and also sweetened.
  • Snickers bites candy: Adds a nutty crunch and fortifies the chocolate flavor. Chop a full or fun-size Snickers bar instead if that's easier. It will give you the same result.
  • Whipping cream: To make the ganache topping. Although you could use a non-dairy alternative, it would lack the richness of real whipping cream. Some ganache recipes call for equal amounts of cream and chocolate, but I find ¾ cup of cream and 2 cups of dark chocolate is perfect for Snickers brownies. This way, the ganache will sit on top instead of just soaking through.

Instructions Overview

These brownies are made in two stages. First, you will make the brownies themselves and then the tasty chocolate ganache which goes on top.

Combine the box cake mix with evaporated milk and melted butter then spread most of this batter in a greased baking dish and cook.

Next, sprinkle Snickers bites and chocolate chips on top. Melt caramel with more evaporated milk and then go ahead and pour this on top.

Finish off with the remaining cake batter, using a spatula to smooth and level the top, and then bake them until done.

Melt chocolate chips with whipped cream and pour this ganache mixture over the brownies when they're completely cooled. Cut them into servings and enjoy.

Common Questions

What exactly is ganache?

It's a mixture of chocolate and cream. Ganache is sweet, silky, smooth, and shiny, and makes a nice topping for homemade Snickers brownies. It can also be used as frosting, dip for fruit slices, or cake filling.

Can I leave brownies unrefrigerated?

Brownies are usually fine to leave at room temperature in an airtight container for 3 or even 4 days. However, the whipped cream ganache on these means you can leave them out for a day or so, but any longer than that and you should refrigerate them. If it's quite warm in your kitchen or pantry, I'd keep them refrigerated since the chocolate ganache topping can melt otherwise.

How do you soften brownies after baking?

Whether your Snickers brownies are a few days old or they have been refrigerated, it is possible to get that soft, just-cooked texture back! Simply pop them into a warm oven for a minute or two.
