Iced Thumbprint Cookies

By Chopnotch

I love making green and red icing for Christmas cookies, but you can also frost them orange for Halloween or pink for Valentine’s Day. They are perfect for any occasion!

Iced Thumbprint Cookies

Prep Time

50 cookies

Cook Time

12 min

An easy five step recipe!

These little treats include all the cookie-making staples you’d expect along with some vanilla and food coloring.

Leave the butter out for half an hour before you start. If it’s soft then it will blend better into the dough.

Chopnotch Tips

1. Combine sugar, butter, salt, and vanilla and beat. Mix in flour. Transfer to refrigerator. Chill for 1 hour.

2. Form small balls. Place on baking sheets. Press thumb into center of each one. Bake for 12 min.

3. Mix sugar, vanilla, and milk. Add food coloring. Spoon icing into thumbprint. Once set, serve and enjoy!
